I’ve been using Avast free and paid versions for over 20 years on multiple devices like all my phones IPhones and Androids plus every single laptop and computer I’ve ever owned. I used to use Norton because always came pre-installed on every computer it is well known BUT is very expensive especially when you have Dad devices, mom devices and multiple kid’s devices and could be in hundreds that quickly. It is an huge file and it slows the device down DRAMATICALLY so much you don’t even want to use the device so I started researching for something different and that didn’t slow down the devices and came upon Avast and been in love ever since. The “Free” version is very good (as long as you do weekly or daily scans. You notice the device speed difference immediately when compared to Norton (ANY ONE OF VERSIONS). I was an network administrator college student and always recommended this software because of the security, ease of use and the price! Free 99 is very affordable and appealing to a college student on a ramen noodle budget lol. Ultimately this and other Avast products are EXCELLENT!! Always choose Avast over other “Free” apps because you’ll have strong protections without the big bill. 😊 Best Fre/Paid App in apple or Google store!!!

I’m grateful this product continues to be made available for free after all these years. Avast has always had a solid reputation, and their efforts to stay competitive are evident in their real-world protection rates against zero-day threats, thanks to next-generation AI and machine learning. I don’t yet have the capital to justify investing in a cold wallet (I do have an MPC wallet), so I use a dedicated iPhone with always-on VPN (in case of malicious actors grabbing the IP from a transaction to try a direct attack) for my wallet apps, and nothing else. While iOS prevents antivirus from being able to block files, it can still help by blocking access to malicious domains at the network level. I went to an unfamiliar DEX in Trust Wallet’s Web3 browser, and, sure enough, Avast blocked it. It also blocks malicious iFrames on legitimate sites, so I can visit them while still having protection against cross-site scripting. And it coexists perfectly with my VPN. Nothing is 100% immune to hacking, not even a cold wallet. But with the combined layers of iOS security, App Store vetting, IP masking, and Web filtering (as well as my use of unique and complex passwords, 2FA, and biometrics), I’m about as close as a hot wallet can possibly get.

I was traumatized from System Mechanic/iolo customer service and thankfully they gave me a refund for my entire account so I can switch. They tried to take control of my computer through remote session, would not let me move my mouse to cancel the session and tried to sell me $240 for several years of live tech. Would not listen to me when I said no several times. I was done. Found out avast had everything an antivirus software needs and decided to buy it. I had some trouble setting up a feature so I called customer service. They are fantastic. They didn’t even try to sell me another product and helped me fix my issue. I am buying everything they have on all my devices.

I downloaded this app along with the other Avast apps as well as installed Avast software onto my laptop because research and reviews say this is a highly rated and reputable software to use. Although I have learned that is lot accurate. Based on other software I am using and comparing those to this company, the results from Avast are not 100% NOT accurate. According to the other softwares and my credit reports, my identity has been stolen and my information is being sold online and has been for quite sometime due to many different channels; breaches and phishing through my emails and browsing history. My computer and phone was hacked on 6/15 by a Trojan that was implanted on 3/18. Since then I have had some alarming signs whoever is behind it may still be in one of my emails I have monitored by this app. According to those other softwares, each has detected one or more of these compromising matters. This software, after each scan says my identity and information is not compromised or of a concern to be alarmed about or to look into further for resolution. Disappointing and now even more concerning because I gave my information to another company for a possibility for more information to be leaked.

I like it because I can use it on my iPad, but it does have some limitations. A lot of things it said in the description was actually for the upgrade version, and some features don’t work. For instance, it checks your email for data breach, but it keeps on prompting you to use it over and over until you upgrade. This can be super annoying. For users that don’t mind it, you would like this antivirus. Also, it puts on this annoying VPN, and once it is on, you can’t turn it off in the app or in the settings app on iOS. Every time you go to iOS settings and hit the button to disable VPN, it automatically switches it back on again one second after you turn it off. But it is a nice antivirus. The VPN can just affect certain sites like Disney+, but that isn’t too bad, as iOS has a Disney+ app anyway. These are my opinions about Avast Security. (Mac users can download the antivirus on their website, and that is the best antivirus ever in my opinion)

so I love this app it really helped my phone because I clicked on a wrong link and it said I had multiple viruses in my phone so my mom told me to get this app on my phone because I used to have it in and it confirmed that I have no viruses and it helped me secure my phone but now I have the Internet VPN on my phone and it makes my Internet so much slower and it is not good because I also have avast on my laptop, which I do my school on because I am homeschooled and it makes it both of my devices internets very slow, which won’t work. my mom also has avast on all her devices and she works from home so avast if you can, please fix this Internet problem, me and my family will be able to continue using your app to secure our devices but if we don’t start seeing change we will have to find a different app as our Internet is not working any more.

Installed this app after I was finally fed up with all the scams and phishing nowadays. It definitely boosts my confidence in my overall security. I would like to upgrade to the paid service however, I have noticed that my battery life has gone downhill significantly since downloading and the battery health setting shows that in one day 50% of my battery usage is coming from this app all in the background. That’s crazy. To top it off I went through about 150% battery today as I am traveling. So on any given normal day. Just unplugging my phone for 16 hours and it will drop to 25%. That’s bonkers. I hope this issue gets resolved. I can’t justify giving money away for a premium service that will only cost me more down the road by having to replace my battery.

I think it is this is a great app, especially because of the fact that it is very accessible. I am someone who uses voiceover, which is a screen reader that Apple has built into all of their products, and this app is very accessible with this program. however, there is one thing that I think should be changed. I know that the developers make their money by developing these apps, but I think that there should be a free version of the app, where all of the features are accessible because of the fact that some people may not be able to afford the premium, but should still get all the features. otherwise, great app, and thank you to the developers for developing this app.
